Holding the Same Face for 10 Minutes

Mayhem

Holding the Same Face for 10 Minutes is a conceptual piece. The formula for the digital media is I had three people hold three different emotions in front of a camera for 10 minutes. A photo was taken every minute with the final one capturing the initial moment of relief from the facial expression. The following was the result. The piece could make comments on the dangers of static emotion and the importance of self-expression.

Mayhem is an appropriated piece. 2016 was an awful year with mayhem taking place on a global scale. With an increase in tragedy there has been an increase of the passive observer. To demonstrate this I took a screenshot of Fight Club in which two main characters hold hands and stare at a landscape of exploding buildings that was caused by Tyler Durden. The following images were the result.
